Winglets in the neo Series

After last year’s the successful development of winglets for aircraft competing in the Red Bull Air Race within DG Group’s consolidated companies, we decided to take advantage of the knowledge gained from these projects for advanced sailplane design. Within the scope of the approval as Development Company according to Part-21J, we first developed innovative 18m tips for our DG-1001. Our goal was to particularly optimize the sailplane for instructional purposes. After a very successful completion of the project, we decided to further optimize the LS8, which since its introduction to the standard class in the middle of the 1990s had been continuously built almost without any alteration. So we started to design new winglets for this model, too. Due to our customers’ high demand we then continued our efforts and planned winglets for the LS1-f, in order to have our new wingtips’ potential also available for club class gliders. In the course of all these projects a whole new product family was generated. We simply call it the „neo“ –series.
