All aircraft which are not designed by DG Flugzeugbau but that are serviced by our company need to sign a Service Agreement. You may only access our supply of services for the aircraft listed below after concluding a Service Agreement.

The „basic agreement“ does not include the following benefits:

If you have signed a full contract and you should now prefer to conclude a basic contract, please get in touch with us before the end of the calendar year. The reduced basic agreement will then become effective at the beginning of the next legal year.
Customers who order a new glider will take advantage of our supplemental „After-Sales-Service“. This also includes the support of their older DG- and LS-gliders, free of charge, of course!

Fees for Service Agreements:
We are offering two alternative agreements – a full contract and a basic contract
The fee for a full contract applies to the current calendar year – irrespective of the effective date of contract conclusion. All bracketed prices are including 19% VAT, unless regulated by law.
- On new contracts we charge a nonrecurring fee of 425,00 € net (505,75 €) for the first year; each renewal year costs 245,00 € net (291,55 €) – per aircraft.
If you have reportedly purchased a used aircraft and sign a service contract the same year, the reduced fee of 245,00 € net will apply.
- Customers who own more than one aircraft pay a flat fee of 300,00 € net (357,00 €) for the second one and for every further model. Each renewal year costs 150,00 € net (178,50 €) – per aircraft.
The fee for a basic contract applies to the current calendar year – irrespective of the effective date of contract conclusion. All bracketed prices are including 19% VAT, unless regulated by law.
- For new basic contracts we charge a nonrecurring fee of 425,00 € +VAT (manuals included) and 180,00 € +VAT in each following year per aircraft.
- For contracts that are taken over from previous owners we charge 180,00 € +VAT. Manuals are not included in this case.
If you have reportedly purchased a used aircraft and sign a service contract the same year, the reduced fee of 180,00 € net (214,20 €) will apply for each calendar year and aircraft.

What do I have to do to conclude a Service Agreement?
First you should download the contract provided on our website and use a text program to fill in your data. If you prefer handwriting, please be careful to insert your e-mail address legibly! Finally please sign the contract and send it to DG.
How do we proceed?
You will receive a confirmation via e-mail and your new maintenance manual with an individual front page.
I own a glider made by your company, which I just purchased second hand. Do I have to conclude a Service Agreement?
No you don’t have to. All gliders built after 1996 by DG Flugzeugbau take advantage of our lifelong after-sales-service. You have virtually purchased it with your used aircraft. The same applies to customers who own such a DG- or LS-glider and want to sell it. The buyer does not have to sign a Service Agreement.
Our club owns several gliders affected by the Service Agreement. Do we need an individual contract for each aircraft or are we paying just one bill?
Every single aircraft needs an individual service agreement. However, beginning with the second aircraft, the owner of multiple machines pays less!
What happens to my Service Agreement after I have sold my aircraft?
The contract will end at the end of the calendar year once you send us a proof of the sale.
You are talking about a discount in connection with service and maintenance. What does that mean?
When you bring in one of your gliders for an annual inspection, or to be repaired or if you request any other modification, you will receive a discount on the labor which may be added up towords the fee you are paying for one policy year. Our service bureau will be happy to help you in this matter.
What does “type support” actually mean?
Anybody who designs, builds and sells an aircraft and wants to produce a series of the model has to apply for an approval. With the issuing of an approval he will receive engineering specifications. His name will be registered as type servicer (type certificate holder) on the paperwork. If for any reason (bankruptcy, abandoning the business, etc.) he drops out, this does not indicate that all aircraft of the series are grounded. Many aircraft are flying in small batch series without having a type servicer. If an accident occurs which is due to a structural failing, a technical will be issued. In this case, without having a type servicer appointed, all aircraft have to stay on the ground.
The EASA has defined the type servicer’s responsibilities in a comprehensive system of rules. You will find them on the EASA homepage when looking for EU-VO 1702, part 21. The extent of type servicing is defined by a sort of “sovereign act”.
The type servicer’s first responsibility is “to be present”. He is the contact person for all questions about the safety of the particular model. He is responsible for the series, not for a particular aircraft. That is the responsibility of an approved maintenance company.
Furthermore the EASA determines which demands the type servicer has to meet. He has to have at least three autonomous engineers. He has to be certified and must regularly undergo audits (and pay fees). He also has to provide a quality management.
The type servicer is a pilots’ natural contact person in all technical matters.
Worldwide, the type servicer is the contact person for maintenance companies, which may call him for extensive assistance with difficult repairs, e.g. particular repair instructions, charts, structural designs etc.
Last but not least the type servicer is responsible for keeping up the construction safety. That is to say an accident with a structural failure is a subject to be reported to the authorities, EASA and worldwide. The type servicer will have to comment on the matter, to verify if an operating error or a fault in construction caused the failure. If the latter is the case, he will have to work on a solution which precludes the occurrence of a similar accident with another aircraft of the model range. The conclusion will be a technical note and an airworthiness directive (AD).
The type servicer is also responsible for the compilation, administration and distribution of aircraft manuals. The compilation is part of the approval process, but the consecutive data administration is not less important; new perceptions and implications to ensure safe air traffic have to be passed on to pilots.
As you can see from the information given above, the type servicer’s duties are enormous and therefore cost-intensive!
