DG-1000 am Abend
Mit dem Ende der Saison, das für meinen Club bereits gekommen ist, werden Sie eine Menge Fotos von schönen Sonnenuntergängen bekommen. Nun, ich habe auch ein solches Bild gemacht und zwar an dem Tag, als wir den verloren gegangenen O-Ring suchten, was uns aber durchaus nicht davon abgehalten hat, unsere DG-1000 zu nutzen, denn es war ein perfekter Flugtag.
Wir sind der erste Verein in Holland, der eine DG-1000 in der Trainer-Version verwendet und haben sogar eine Option auf eine zweite gezeichnet.
Der 20. Oktober war ein herrlicher Tag, der erst mit Nebel begann, der sich aber schnell auflöste und dann perfekte Bedingungen für Alleinflüge bot, die wir auch intensiv genutzt haben. Wir wussten da noch nicht, dass es der letzte fliegbare Tag´des Jahres für unseren Verein werden sollte und dass Frank Bosma der letzte sein würde, den wir zu seinem Alleinflug bei niedrigen Temperaturen und tief stehender Sonne in die Luft brachten.
Viele "Altweibersommer"-Spinnenetze dekorierten das Flugfeld und gaben ihm einen silbrigen Schein. Unsere Piloten waren ganz gefangen von dieser einmaligen Athmospäre und nutzten jede Sekunde des Tages um zu fliegen. Die Fliegerkameradschaft/ glider pilots comeradery war überall zu spüren.
Die Temperaturen fielen, feuchter Nebel kam auf und der letzte Flug des Tages wurde auch der letzte der Saison. Ein schönes Bild bot sich aus dem Cockpit vor dem leuchtenden Abendhimmel, der in einem fantastischen Licht erschien.
Nach dem letzten Flug machte ich das Bild von Haaije de Jong, einem unserer neuesten Flugschüler, der gerade aus der Maschine stieg und vor dem atemberaubend schönen Hintergrund stand. Man sieht die Reflektionen auf dem Flugzeug und ich hoffe, dass Ihnen das Foto gefällt.

DG-1000 in the Evening
At this time, when the season has ended at my Club, you will (most likely) get lots of “beautiful sunset pictures”. I also shot such a picture. It was taken the very day we “looked for the missing o-ring”. This did not stop us from using our glider, it was a perfect day for flying.
We are the first Club in Holland to use the Trainer-Version of the DG-1000, we even have an option for a second one.
October 20th was a wonderful day, it started with fog that quickly vaporated and the day turned into a perfect day for first Solo Flights. We used the day intensely for precisely this purpose. At this time we did not know that this would be the last useful day of the flying season. Neither did we know that Frank Bosma would be the very last guy to do his Solo in low temperatures and a low sun.
Lots of “Indian summer” spider webs decorated the field and gave the light a silvery kind of hue. Our pilots were quite captured by this unique atmosphere and used every single second of the day for flying. You could really sense how thick the pilot camaraderie was in the air.
As the temperature fell the moist fog started forming and the last flight of the day would also be the last flight of the season. Seen from the cockpit the beautiful evening sky was aglow putting a fantastic light on the scenery.
After the last flight I shot the picture of Haaije de Jong, one of our newest students, as he stepped out of the glider and stood on the ground with the breathtakingly beautiful background. You can see the reflections on the airplane and I hope you like this photo.
